#### 5.6.5.6 Maximum Shear Stress

For this criterion, the damage measure takes the form where and are the maximum and minimum principal normal stresses (under the assumption that the three principal stresses of are ordered such that ). To evaluate the damage surface normal, we may use Eqs.(5.6.5.4-4)-(5.6.5.4-5) where Here, and are unit vectors along the principal directions of maximum and minimum normal stress, respectively.
